Music Festival in Spain

16th–19th July 2015 Benicassim, Costa Azahar, Spain

Having started in 1995, this is probably one of Europe’s most established and popular festivals of the summer, particularly among young Brits.
It boasts some big name headline acts, and has confirmed for 2015 Blur, The Prodigy, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Florence and the Machine, and Bastille.
Located not too far from Barcelona or Valencia, it’s a great option for those looking to combine some great artists, sunset partying and beach holiday vibes. You can buy one, two or three day passes to the festival so you can tailor your festival experience to your  holiday.
Festival Director Melvin Benn is looking forward to the launch of new areas of the festival this year, with fresh ideas keeping it moving with the times and ensuring its continuing and enduring success.

The festival provides onsite camping facilities that stay surprisingly clean and tidy. Be warned, it seems like a long walk in the heat with your camping gear from the bus stop! There are also glamping facilities if you want to go slightly upmarket.
Alternatively, there’s hotel and apartment options locally if you want some air conditioning and easier access to the beach and town.

Getting there

You could fly to Barcelona, Alicante, and Valencia and then get a transfer to Benicassim. You can also get trains from around Europe to the town if you’d like to make it part of a bigger trip.

You can expect it to get hot, with average temperatures in July reaching around 30 degrees Celsius. Bikinis at the ready!
