If you take out group travel insurance, every member of your travelling party is insured under the same policy. With our travel insurance for groups, there’s no need for policy members to be related, and you can include up to 12 adults on one policy. So, whether you’re travelling as part of a wedding party, visiting another country with a local club or just heading on a beach break with some friends, a group travel insurance policy could be a great solution for you.
However, if you’re travelling with a significant other, then you may find that couples travel insurance is a better choice. Plus, couples travel insurance could end up being cheaper than buying individual policies, because we offer a couples discount. To see whether our couples travel insurance is right for you, simply click ‘Get a Quote.’
Below is some more information about our products, for which Terms and Conditions apply. Please visit the policy information hub for full details.
If you’re heading abroad, either as a couple or a group, then travel insurance is always worthwhile. After all, even if you’re going somewhere close by, the unexpected can still happen. For example, your flight could be cancelled, you may be targeted by pickpockets while getting some holiday snaps, or you could fall ill.
But if you take out a group travel insurance policy, you’ll have cover in case something does happen. If you’ve taken out group travel insurance, we can help protect you against medical bills, flight delays or stolen possessions. So, whether you’re heading to the beach, hitting the slopes on a skiing holiday, venturing on a backpacking holiday or making the most of your retirement, travel insurance is essential. With our group travel insurance policies, you can enjoy peace of mind from the second you book to the moment you return home.
At Allianz Assistance, we offer a level of insurance that’s appropriate for most travellers. Different policies provide varying levels of cover, so it’s important that you read your policy documents carefully and understand exactly what you’re covered for.
Our Single Trip, Annual and Backpacker policies all suit different needs. Plus, our Bronze, Silver and Gold policies provide you with different levels of cover and claim limits. Depending on which policy you choose, you’ll be covered for:
*Not available with Bronze cover.
**Only available with Gold cover.
Terms and Conditions apply.
If you’re planning to take part in any fun activities while you’re away on holiday, then you may also need to purchase some add-ons to ensure you’re fully covered.
If you fancy playing some golf while you’re away, then our Golf insurance can protect you, any clubs you’ve taken with you and any green fees you’ve paid. Or, if you’re going on a group skiing holiday, our Winter Sports and Ski insurance allows you to hit the slopes with confidence. Alternatively, if you’re planning a romantic cruise that’s designed for couples, our Cruise add-on can protect you against things like as cabin confinement or itinerary changes.
To qualify for couples travel insurance, you’ll need to book your trip together and travel together; you also need to have been living together at the same address for more than 6 months.
If you haven’t booked your trip together or you’re not travelling together, then you won’t be covered by couples travel insurance.
It’s easy to organise and book travel insurance for groups. As part of our Single Trip and Annual group travel insurance policies, up to 12 adults aged 75 or under can be placed on the same policy. If you’re searching for Backpacker insurance, the upper age limit is 35.
In order to get a quote for your group travel insurance policy, you’ll just need to tell us the type of policy you’d like (Single Trip, Annual or Backpacker), where you’re going on holiday, the age of all the adults travelling and whether you require any additional cover. If you’re booking a Single Trip or Backpacker policy, you’ll also need to tell us whether anybody on the policy needs to declare any pre-existing medical conditions. You’ll then be given a quote for Bronze, Silver and Gold cover.
Please note that if you’re booking an Annual group travel insurance policy, then pre-existing medical conditions are not included within the cover.
If you’re going on holiday in a group, you may find that buying a group travel insurance policy is easier and less time consuming than buying individual policies for each person.
By placing every member of the group on the same travel insurance policy, you’ll know that everyone has the same level of cover, and you’ll only need to carry one set of policy documents.
Similarly, if you take out couples travel insurance, you can rest easy knowing you’re both protected by the same policy, and it’ll save you the hassle of buying multiple policies.
A lot of bank accounts or credit cards come with varying levels of travel insurance cover. Although some may be comprehensive and suitable for most trips, they may not cover you for everything you have planned whilst you’re away. If you have adventurous plans or unusual excursions booked for your trip, you might not be covered. Make sure you look into the travel insurance policy that you have before every trip, to make sure it’s suitable for you and your plans.
Purchasing a holiday using a credit card means you are often protected by Consumer Protection cover that is offered on purchases when a provider defaults and you are unable to receive your goods (or in this case, go on your holiday). This means that, in most cases, you can get your money returned to you before going on your trip.
